Introduction

Hi, I am Keke and I am in my fourth year of Digital Media at York University. This blog will document weekly the progression of my capstone project in DATT 4700 Digital Media Project.

The topic I have chosen to examine is the taxonomy of computer role-playing games.  I am a huge fan of role-playing games, whether it's tabletop or video, and over the years I have noticed that it is easy to identify if a video game is an RPG. The reason for this is because many RPGs use the same conventions. Therefore for my capstone project, I propose the creation of a video game that will discard these conventions and deconstruct the genre in order to its boundaries.
